Over the years, sizing has been more standardized in the men's wear industry so many of you already know the size you normally buy. We haven't changed it much, except to give you more room.

Orvis shirts are a generous cut through the body to give lots of wearing ease. They are all from the same basic body with details changing per style. So that means, if you wear a Large in one style, it will be the same size for all men's shirts whether meant for active wear or relaxing at the lodge.

For pants, you order by your waist size. Again, we have added a bit of room for comfort, but there is no need to change your normal pant waist size. The pants are based on the same basic body, as in the shirts, with style changes added for variety in choice. Again, this is to make it easier for you to find your ORVIS fit and keep purchasing the same size over and over.

In the outerwear garments, we have fit them with all the usual under layers on that we feel you would be wearing when using the garment in it's intended use- so there is no need to up size your jackets and coats. To find your glove size, lay your hand down on a flat surface and wrap a measuring tape around it at the knuckles. The distance around your hand at this point is your glove size - 7½"=glove size 7½, 9"=size 9, etc.

The technical gear has been tested in the field and is sized with tackle boxes in the pockets of the fishing vests and game birds in the pouches of the field coats. We have done all of the testing for you so you just order the same size you would for a sport coat- by your chest size and how you like your clothes to fit.
