We offer four types of guided trips under the Orvis Endorsement program:

This is our standard guide trip where we wade in a variety of rivers and small streams. Spring and Fall are the best months to wade some of our larger streams such as the Tuckasegee, East Fork of the French Broad, and Davidson Rivers. If you are in pursuit of larger fish, spring and fall is when you want to come.
When summertime rolls around, we typically find cooler water and more eager fish under the canopy of some of our smaller streams for wild trout. Our wild trout fisheries are typically in the most scenic settings, often on Forest Service land. During summer months, you can expect to catch a variety of wild rainbows, browns, and brook trout (our native species). These fish have a slow growth rate and do not get much bigger than 12 inches, so don’t expect any Montana-sized lunkers.
Pricing: 1 person – $225
2 people – $320
3 people – $420
Our guides can only handle 3 people at once, so if you have a larger group multiple guides will need to be booked.
Float Trips for trout:We float in drift boats as well as framed rafts depending on water levels. Our floats for trout typically take place on the Tuckasegee, Watauga, and South Holston Rivers. The Watauga and South Holston Rivers are located in Tennessee and require a longer commute, but the trip is well worth it. The Tuckasegee fishes well in March, April, May, Oct, and Nov, and can produce high numbers of fish.
Pricing : $375 one or two people
Float trips for smallmouth bass:This is a great option during the summer months when the trout floats slow down. These trips are taken on the French Broad River, and the angler has the option to fish with a fly rod or spinning gear. Smallmouth bass may be one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish out there, and they let you know it. If you have never tried it, this is something to experience.
Pricing : $375 one or two people
All Day Schools: This trip is designed for the beginner angler. It consists of a half day of lessons (casting, knot tying, fly selection, etc) and a half day of fishing. We only take private parties, so you’ll remain with your group for the day. If you are interested in the sport of fly fishing, but don’t know how to get started, this is the trip for you. The goal of this trip is to get you to the point where you feel comforatable going out on your own or booking one of our trout or smallmouth trips.
Pricing : $225 per person (up to three people per guide)
Things to Bring: We strongly urge that you wear sunglasses. Flies can end up in the most inconvenient places. Polarized sunglasses are the best to reduce glare for clearer vision in the stream or river. If you are not wearing waders it is a good idea to have quick-dry clothing. Other things to bring are a hat, sunblock, and camera.
All of our guide trips include a deli-style lunch, waders, boots, rod and reel. Flies and leaders will need to be purchased seperately (your guide will help in the selection of these items). A NC or TN license (depending on where you are fishing) is required on all of our trips. We can assist you in purchasing a license – please call for more information. To preserve our fisheries, we practice catch and release fishing only.
Lake Jocassee Trips: (new)Located in Pickens County along the South Carolina/ North Carolina border, Lake Jocassee is a deep, clear lake ringed by the Appalachian Mountains. Built by the state of South Carolina in partnership with Duke Power in 1973, Duke manages the lake to generate hydroelectric power. Jocassee has 7500 acres of water and 75 miles of shoreline, and it is fed to the west and north by four rivers – the Whitewater River, the Thompson River, the Horsepasture River and the Toxaway River. Some even Cascade into the lake as Waterfalls. It is over 300 feet deep in places, and the cool, deep outflow from Lake Jocassee forms the headwaters of Lake Keowee.
In most cases downriggers are used while trolling spoons and live bait to reach the depths at which lake Jocassee trout live at. Capt. Steve Pietrykowski Charters a 25 foot Voyager Pontoon fully rigged to pursue the trout of Lake Jocassee. Services Offered are both day time trolling trips and Season depending night fishing. Also available are waterfall tours for the none fisherman.
